Layout Open House - Perry Lamb's UC&W

Sat, 05/23/2020 - 12:00pm

To limit the spread of COVID-19, Perry's layout will NOT be open to visitors.  The UC&W will be available on the Piedmont Division's Facebook page starting around noon.

The UC&W is a modern-themed Class 1 railroad based in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The railroad fully owns Norfolk Southern and is the only true transcendental railroad in the United States.  The railroad also owns and manages all Amtrak operations in the U.S., with the exception of Amtrak California and the Northeast Corridor. <

The layout itself is currently under construction by members of the North Atlanta Rail Barons operating group.  The layout is housed in a room that was finished with railroad construction in mind.  There is also a separate crew lounge and work area, outside the layout room.  The layout features staging yards stacked over each other, a division point yard, intermodal operations and mountain railroading.  The railroad serves industrial areas around Salt Lake City, Mystery, Idaho, Summit, Oregon and Washington.  Operations feature local switching jobs, mainline freight and both mainline passenger and commuter rail services.
