The New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio Central Railroad is a mythical merger of my three favorite railroads, NYC, PRR and B&O, and is set primarily in Ohio. The layout was designed with operations in mind and is essentially a single track mainline with passing sidings and hidden staging yards at each end. The average train is 20 to 25 cars long and when travelling from staging to staging takes approximately 12 minutes to cover the 6.11 scale miles. Since the start of construction in September 2006, most of my efforts have been in refining the original design to hopefilly ensure the railroad is interesting, fun and a bit challenging to operate. In april 2010, I decided to replace the existing Peco turnouts with ones handmade using Fast Track jigs. To date over 70 handmade turnouts have heen built and installed, with approximately 50 to go. In addition to replacing approximately 45 turnouts since the 2010 Piedmont Pilgrimage, other changes include a Meat Processing complex, a brewery complex, a 600 scale foot curved Steel Trestle and the start of scenery in selected areas.
