Layout at a Glance
What is modeled is a busy single track railroad with heavy Florida-Midwest passenger (Dixie Flyer & Dixie Limited) & freight traffic. Atlanta-Junta also hosts L&N trains (Southland, Flamingo and coal trains). Rome RR trains meet the main line trains at Kingston. Fudging the time by two years (to 1941) enables an L&N E6 to poke a nose in, and the New Budd Streamliner – the Dixie Flagler –however the stainless Flagler is steam hauled, as was the original . I have been fortunate to find a great deal of operating information and employee timetables from the last 1930’s upon which to base operations. It has been fun learning and replicating railroad history new to me.
