Voting Opens for the 2020 Board of Directors Election.  This year's Board of Director's Election will be conducted by US Mail and online through Electionbuddy, the voting system used for SER and National elections.  The change was made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Virtual Meeting with Pete Steinmetz

To limit the spread of COVID-19, August's meeting and clinic will not be held at Holy Innocents' Epsicopal Church.  Instead, the division will hold "virtual" meetings and present clinics online.

Clinic:  Pete Steinmetz presents "Battery Powered Remote Control operation of small scale model trains."  He will discuss the advantages of using Dead Rail, various systems available, batteries and battery charging, and battery safety.

Pete Steinmetz has been an avid modeler since childhood.  He is one of the founders of the Dead Rail Society and the owner of Dead Rail Installs. He currently models HO and On30.   His career has been spent in rechargeable batteries and the development of Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer chemistries. Pete is also Director of the PSR San Diego Division and Membership Chair of the PSR.

Module Building Train ‘N Camp Series - Basic Module Construction

This class has been rescheduled from its original date, May 30.

Basic Module Construction is the first of three classes in the "Module Building" Train ‘N Camp series. This class will cover module (benchwork) construction, laying flex track and a turnout and wiring the track and turnout.

The Module Building Train ‘N Camp Series covers the construction of an HO Scale module that can be used to earn the Golden Spike Award from the NMRA Achievement Program. The overall cost for the program will be $50.00 for each of the 8 participants for the full program.  Registration is for all three sessions and all materials for the basic modules will be provided. Students will be furnished with a tool list prior to each session. There will be 4 additional slots available for the one session on kit bashing. Registration for that session will be $15.00.

A list of needed tools will be provided to each participant.

  • August 29, 1pm to 4pm - Kitbashing a tool shed

Kitbashing a Tool Shed is the third of three classes in the "Module Building" Train ‘N Camp series.  Participants will complete their module by installing the completed tool shed and add scenery. 

Registration is Required.

Kitbashing a Tool Shed is the second of three classes in the "Module Building" Train ‘N Camp series. This class will cover kitbashing a structure, in this case a tool shed, from a boxcar body and finishing that structure. 

Registration is Required.
