NMRA Model Contests and Display Room

Each year the Piedmont Division sponsors an NMRA-approved model contest for NMRA members during The Model Train Show. Rules follow the standard rules published by the NMRA. Requirements and all forms are available on the NMRA website. Models with completed forms can be entered. The most common categories are Motive Power, Rolling stock (passenger and freight cars) and Structures.

These models are open for viewing in the Model Display Room. Models may be entered during the Train Show hours from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. The models will be on display all day Sunday, until picked up by the entrant. Build a model and bring it in and enter the contest.

The judges will evaluate your models, pointing out the good features and giving advice on how to improve. It helps us all to become better model railroaders. And there is also a large display area, where modelers may simply display their models without entering the contest. Come and participate, and come to look.

NOTE: You MUST be a member of the NMRA in order to compete in the constest.
