2008 Raffle Layout

Each year, the Model Train Show presents a full featured 4' x 8' layout complete with scenery, model locomotive and train, and a Digital Command Control (DCC) system. The layout can be won by purchasing raffle tickets at the show. Tickets will be available at 3 tickets for $5 or 1 ticket for $2. The winner will be chosen Sunday afternoon of the show.

The Piedmont Division 2008 raffle layout is a 4' x 8' beautifully hand crafted model railroad in HO scale. The layout was built by one of the the Piedmont Division's operating groups, the Southern Crescent Operating Group (S-Cog). This raffle layout for the 2008 Model Train Show tunnels through a mountain, has loads of industrial switching opportunities and includes a dozen custom-decorated structures.

The layout includes a Southern Rwy. locomotive with an installed DCC Decoder. The Digitrax Zephyr DCC system donated by Digitrax controls the layout. Using Digitral Command Control (DCC) allows you to control multiple trains simultaneously with better speed control for more prototypical operation. This year's raffle layout also includes a UT4 hand held throttle donated by Southern Digital and a UP5 panel for walk around control.
